About Me

- Name: Jason Levine
- Location: Bloomfield, New Jersey
I live with my wife, Brigitte, and my two children, Oliver, who is six years old, and Lola, who is two. We have a house in a quiet neighborhood next to a park (the park has a stream running through it and ducks that swim there!). We used to live in Brooklyn, but it got too crowded and expensive. I've taught English as a second language for nearly ten years. It's my passion! I enjoy using games, movies, music, and real life situations in my lessons. For me, the most important thing is to understand each student's individual learning style, interests, and goals for the future; then I can help the student relax and have fun learning. I got my BA in psychology from Vassar College and my MA in TESOL from Hunter College at the City University of New York. I've taught ESL and trained teachers at Embassy CES, Long Island University, Bergen Community College, Bloomfield College and Encare, a school that I co-founded with one of my former students. What I love most about teaching is creating my own materials. Right now I'm really excited about the hip hop music and card games I've developed to teach hard-to-learn vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

Hey Jason! It's Ken.
I'm happy to see your words in such a beautiful green blog! But I wonder if you are still in Japan, or not. According to Mune's blog, you are on a picture dated on Sep. 20th. In spite of that, I could read some sentence saying "...final day in Tokyo..." ..???
In this September, I have been very busy acctually. I organized some classic concert tour performed by the Estonian chamber orchestra in Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, and Kamakura in the beginning of the month and continuously went to Europe for a week to shoot some conpetition of cycling race (no relations bet. them). Now, I have to edit both of them by the end of this month. It must be so stressful...! However, one thing I want to say to you is that I've had many times to speak English in the force of circumstances, and have fortunately been able to communicate with these Europeans! The days I attended encare certainly helped me and perhaps I could experience T.I.E. on business.
btw, I've often hanged around with Mike in Tokyo. (^^;
Seeya!

Hello, Jason! How are you doing? It's Satoshi.
Thank you for inviting me to your nice blog. Now, I am studying at Stockholm University as an exchange student, and suffering from the discussion of the seminar class, for all the student excepting me speak English so fluently. I realized my English is far from perfect, and regretted that I hadn't(haven't?) study much since I came back to Japan. But anyway, I will do my best and try to catch up with them.
I hope you and Mune will succeed also in Japan.
See you.
